The Travellers under a blue sky

The series of sculptures lining Sandridge Bridge is called The Travellers. The work is about the waves of immigrants who came to Melbourne.

Sandridge Bridge  is a pedestrian bridge over the Yarra River. It’s lovely to walk along here when the shadows of the giant sculptures makes patterns on the ground (I have posted a black and white photo here).

You will be able to see glass pieces in the first picture, with names of countries. When I was there, the glass with Macedonia inscribed was broken, and I thought that it made a rather interesting picture.

Here is another photo which shows the sculptures, but Sandridge Bridge (not shown) is actually behind the bridge that you see in this photo.
