I saw this on the road recently – this vehicle is so full of character!

Reflections – Cong, Ireland
My husband and I took these photos while we were on holiday in Ireland last year. Cong is a lovely small town on the west of Ireland (click here for its location).
More photos on Cong later…

West Gate Park, Melbourne
We went for a walk in the West Gate Park last week. The park is rather interesting with birds and Australian indigenous trees and shrubs. There are also a few sculptures.
A sculpture against the blue sky
Birds having a nice quite time on their own little island in the middle of a pond
The park runs along the banks of the Yarra River under the Westgate Bridge (above). The bridge joins Melbourne's western suburbs to the CBD, and is used by by thousands of commuters daily.
Railway track which is no longer used
Good to see that the park is recycling used cartons
Finally, a couple of photos of flowers taken during our walk.
Enjoy your weekend.

Mountain views (Part 2)
Earlier I posted some photos taken at Yoga Retreat, about an hour out of Melbourne
in this post: Mountain Views. Here are a few more photos taken at sunrise. I love the soft lines made by the outlines of the mountains…
And below is a photo taken during the day…
Have a wonderful weekend.

Walking into glass door…
It was a few months ago. I felt sore for 3 days after that. I hate to think what might have happened if the glass had broken…

Bruny Island and Eco Adventure Tour (Australia)

In my last post, I uploaded some pictures taken in Hobart, Tasmania. From here, we took a 40 minute drive, and arrived at Bruny Island (Click on this link for its exact location)
It consists of 2 islands joined by an isthmus, shown in the first photo. The view from the viewing platform was really lovely. Pictured on the left are my husband and I braving the cold and strong winds.
We rented a house by the sea, on an amazing spot with fantastic views (the next 3 photos). We would have been happy to stay indoors the entire trip.
But we did go out... and here are a couple of photos taken around the island.
Eco Adventure Tour
One of the highlights was going on the Eco Adventure Tour to see the coastline and wildlife. We went out on a boat similar to the one below. The crew offered us ginger tablets to counter sea-sickness. The sea was quite rough, so I took 2 (just in case!).
Below… seals having a snooze in the sun, and frolicking in the sea.
A blowhole…
… and wonderful rock formations.
I took the following photo while waiting for a ferry to drive back to Hobart.
I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Tasmania, Australia
I took these photos while visiting Hobart in Tasmania in 2008.
The following is a photo of Salamanca Place, which has many restaurants and retail outlets. There is a fantastic craft market here every Saturday.
In the background of the photo, you can see Mount Wellington. It is a short 15-minute drive to the peak. On a clear day, you will be able to get a good view that stretches on and on for miles…
Have a nice weekend.

Mountain views
I was at a Yoga Retreat in the mountains last weekend. It is 430 metres (267 miles) above sea level, and the view was pretty good. It was over an hours drive north of Melbourne.
I had a fantastic weekend. Besides yoga sessions, there were a couple of walks in the state forest. I was tired after the trip, but energized :).
Just a few photos for Skywatch today. I hope you enjoy them. I will upload more photos soon.
Wishing you a nice weekend.

The mermaid rejoices in her wilderness…
I drew the figure in pen, then scanned the sketch into the computer. Using Photoshop, I added the background (a photograph of the sea) and colours.
This piece is completed based on Illustration Friday’s theme for this week: “wilderness”.

St Kilda Pier
St Kilda is a suburb close to the Melbourne CBD. On a sunny day, the pier is a nice place to visit.
St Kilda Pavilion (at the end of the pier) is a historical structure on the St Kilda pier. It was built in 1904. In 2003, it was destroy in a fire, but was rebuilt following its original plan.
Boats, with the Melbourne CBD in the background.
A nice way to spend time with Dad…
