My first succulent topiary
This is my first succulent topiary! I am really happy with the result and hopefully the plants will stay healthy for many years.
The succulent plants are growing in moss, and this can be hung on the wall. I think it’s a pretty good idea to have plants in a frame on the balcony wall – a fantastic space saving idea :).
I have posted the details of making the frame, and completing the project here:

Succulent doodle
I have a succulent obsession at the moment. I have been buying, planting, reading and dreaming of succulent plants lately. As if that is not enough, I’ve started drawing succulents. This is today’s doodle…

My art in a restaurant
I was surfing the net yesterday, and I stumbled upon a restaurant review with a photo of my art pieces. The above is a snapshot of the webpage. The pieces were on loan to the restaurant, and were completed several years ago. They had been exhibited at several shows in Melbourne. More pictures below…
The wooden wall sculpture was made of stained plywood, and has a print on parts of the sculpture. It is curved (2nd picture below) so that it does not that flatten against the wall.
The frame works are mixed media pieces on rice paper, which were completed while I was a student. I made a number of pieces. The photo below shows a set of nine exhibited at the VCA student gallery (Melbourne).
By the way, the restaurant serves great Malaysian food. If you are in Port Melbourne and are feeling peckish, do consider paying them a visit.

Joys of gardening… not quite, not yet anyway
I’ve been busy lately with another creative project. I have always wanted a lovely outdoor area to sit and relax in, so I decided it was time I did something with our balcony space. It’s rather challenging at the moment, as a coastal balcony with little sun and constant wind isn’t exactly conducive for gardening.
I nearly lost my patience a couple of days ago, as the howling winds uprooted most of my plants. Read about my journey in my new blog, Sensational Succulents.

Go for 2 fruit and 5 veg
The government suggests 2 serves of fruits and 5 serves of vegetables a day. It does seem a lot. I feel full the whole day. Click here for more info, including tips on how to incorporate that into your daily diet.
